With the launch of Angry Birds Space, Rovio gives users a virtual license to take a sneak peek into outer space and sling shot a wide range of birds to send them smashing into their arch enemies. There’s been a lot of hype in the media about the new version, and with Rovio choosing to tie up with NASA to market the game from space itself, the excitement and anticipation around the game has simply gone beyond control. For those of you who still haven’t got their hands tested on the new version, here’s a look at what you can expect.
Basics:
Rovio has launched Angry Birds Space on iOS and Android, allowing mobile users to download the new version and get started with ease. If you love playing games on your windows pc, you can download a paid version of the game from Rovio’s website, while Mac users can download it from the Apple app store.
The basic idea of the original version such as catapulting birds at wood and stone structures to destroy the smug pigs sheltering within is still continued with the new version too. In addition, Rovio has launched 60 thrilling levels of fun and excitement with the new version for users to go insanely crazy while playing. More levels are to be introduced very soon.
What’s New?
The question that’s looming on everyone’s mind is what’s actually new with the space version of the game? Although the best way to find the answer is by playing the game yourself, we would still try to sum it up for you.
The first thing that’s new is the theme of the game. Considering that the birds are in space, the theme is a faint blue with ice crystals and stones to make it even more interesting. The gravitational changes to the game make it a real treat for users. The birds tend to move in a straight trajectory until they actually enter a planet’s gravitational field, causing their path to change. This makes it quite interesting as users will have to carefully strategize the path that the birds have to be launched in.
With the new version of the game, Rovio has also introduced a set of new birds with their individual super powers to give users all new levels of adventure. The Lazer bird can change its trajectory in mid-flight, enabling users to sling shot it around planets. There’s also an ice bird that manages to freeze the smug pigs and their structures, allowing the following bird to smash everything with one blow. The black bird explodes when obstructed while the monster green bird uses all its weight and power to send the pigs and their structures crashing to the ground.
What’s great about the game?
The fantastic thing about Angry Birds Space is that while Rovio chooses to add complex graphics and design to the new version, the developers have kept the controls really simple. This enables users to play the game with complete ease.
Another amazing thing about Angry Birds Space is the 60 new exciting levels that will definitely elevate your gaming skills. Constant strategy and changing surroundings with each level make the game a lot of fun to play. Because every level is different and more complex that the previous, your skills to play the game and the strategy that you build around it has to also improve with each passing level. This is a big addiction for gamers.
The gravitational fields and the range of new birds create a magnetic appeal that draws users towards the new version. One look at the game will get you hooked on to it for life.

All said and done, Angy Birds Space is one game that you will instantly get addicted to whether you are using the iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S2 or HTC One X.

The Galaxy series by Samsung features a variety of high end handsets with superior features and designs. Although the iPhone is the preferred choice for most people, Apple lacks the variety that the Galaxy has. Users can choose from a wide range of Galaxy handsets and choose the one that suits them the most. The diverse designs and specifications in the galaxy series puts them on an elevated pedestal for all phone manufacturers to take a lesson from. The handsets run on Google’s android operating system and are highly efficient for even the most advanced users. Let’s take a closer look at the handsets in the galaxy series to get you familiar with them.

Samsung Galaxy S: If you are looking to get your hands on a decent smart phone for a decent price, the Galaxy S would obviously be your preferred choice. Equipped with 8GB of internal memory and a 4 inch touch screen display, the Galaxy S may not be the best handset in the Galaxy series but it certainly is a reliable smart phone with some lovely features.

Free from £16 a Month

Samsung Galaxy S2: With 16 GB of internal memory and a 4.3 inch powerful display, the Galaxy S2 is an upgraded version of the Galaxy S. The S2 is extremely slim and is packed with state of the art features, giving apple a run for its money. This is one of the most desired handsets in the Galaxy range till date.

Free from £26 a Month

Samsung Galaxy Note: Featuring the largest display in the Galaxy range handsets, the Galaxy note is a fantastic phone that can be used for both, business and pleasure. The phone is equipped with an ebook reader and a great mp3 player to keep you company while you’re on the road. Playing games and watching movies on this handset is a real treat.

Samsung Galaxy W: If you like a smart phone that comes with powerful features but not a very big display, the Galaxy W will certainly be your best bet. The phone comes with 4 GB of internal memory to help you store all your music tracks, pictures, games and movies and runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
Samsung Galaxy Y: The Galaxy Y has the smallest display in the Galaxy range and yet it somehow manages to impress smart phone users across the world. Its 3 inch display may lack the larger than life impression that other galaxy handsets may have but the handset offers ultra smooth navigation and a fun user experience overall. For those who are on a budget, this smart phone will definitely meet your every need.

When you compare this handset with other handsets in the Galaxy range, you would realize that it has a longer battery life.

Free from £15 a Month

The HTC Sensation Range is a collection of HTC smartphones. All three phones in this range are equipped with the latest features and strong competitors to the Samsung Galaxy range. If you are still unfamiliar with the HTC Sensation Range mobile phones, you can have a look at each of their features below.

HTC Sensation

The phone that started the entire buzz – the HTC Sensation drew fast attraction in the market from the moment it was launched. Featuring an 8.0 mega pixel camera with dual LED flash, the HTC Sensation is equipped with a dual core 1.2 GHz processor, giving you a rapid interface that is responsive to the lightest of touches. The phone comes with a 4.3 inch touch screen that is great to play some of the most thrilling games and watch your favorite movies. The powerful camera allows you to record full HD videos on this smart phone without having to compromise on clarity or quality. You can store all your music tracks, pictures and videos in its 1GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB. The design is the usual candy bar design that most smart phones have in the market today.

Free From £20.50 a month

HTC Sensation XE

With the launch of the Sensation XE, HTC proved that it can develop an enhanced version of the Sensation and offer more appeal to smart phone users across the world. The Sensation XE is very similar to the Sensation. It also features a 4.3 inch touch display and an 8 mega pixel camera just like the Sensation. The processor that powers the Sensation XE has been upgraded to 1.5GHz to enable a much faster user experience. Another enhancement to the XE is its powerful flash. The dual flash on the XE is much better than the one on the Sensation, giving you absolutely breathtaking pictures during the day as well as in the night. The memory is 1GB, similar to the Sensation; however, the touch keys light up in red instead of white. Not much of a difference from the Sensation. The XE weighs 3 grams more than the Sensation but with added beat’s audio you can listen to music tracks in studio quality.

Free From £26 a month

HTC Sensation XL

The HTC Sensation XL clearly stands out as the ultimate smart phone in the Sensation ranges of mobile phones. HTC has powered this phone with a 1.5GHz processor and a wide 4.7 inch touch display, giving you the license to stack this phone with the most advanced applications from the Android marketplace and access everything with total ease. The display on the Sensation XL showcases a powerful flood of vivid colors to beautifully display everything that’s on your screen. HTC has also ensured that you don’t have to compromise on storing limited music files, pictures, videos, movies, games or anything else for that matter on your phone. It has upgraded to internal memory on the XL to 16 times more of the Sensation and the Sensation XE. The Sensation XL comes with 16GB of internal memory, allowing you to have the whole world stored right on your mobile phone. HTC has also improved the batter life with the launch of the XL. This means that you can use your phone for longer hours without having to worry about it running out of charge.

Free From £20.50 a month

HTC’s long lasting battle for smartphone market share against the Apple iPhone 4S has become more competitive with each Sensation mobile phone that has launched. Each of these smartphones have gained huge popularity in the smart phone market and managed to turn heads with the innovative features running on the Google Android software.

Both, the Samsung Galaxy S and the Samsung Galaxy Ace are high end handsets that are widely popular across the world. While both handsets are very much desired with few differences that separate them from each other. The Galaxy Ace was one of Samsungs best handsets for 2010 while the Galaxy S ruled the market in the first half of 2011. Compare both handset’s side by side and you will notice a few physical differences already. To know more about the differences, let’s glance at the features of both these devices to draw a comparison between the two.

Display
One look at both handsets will give you an idea about the difference in the display. The Samsung Galaxy S has a larger display than the Galaxy Ace. If you measure the display of both handsets, the Galaxy S has a 4 inch display compared to the 3.5 inch display of the Ace. Another great feature about the display of the Galaxy S is that it is a Super AMOLED touch screen and the Ace has a TFT capacity touch screen. The Super Amoled touch screen of the Galaxy S gives you better brightness and far greater enhancement in the colors displayed on your screen. Samsung has used Gorilla Glass to shape both displays to avoid any scratches and cracks.

Design
Like most phones that are launched in the market today, the Galaxy Ace and Galaxy S also have a candy bar design. One feature that is probably visible in the Galaxy S is that the two touch buttons besides the center key is visible even when the display light is off, unlike the Galaxy Ace. The Galaxy S is also slightly slimmer than the Galaxy Ace. Because the design of the Galaxy S is bigger than the Ace, the applications are spread out nicely, giving you plenty of flexibility and smoothness while using the S. While the designs of both phones are almost identical, users prefer using the Galaxy S because it is more drawn out and wide spread. Also the battery life in the Galaxy S is far better than the Galaxy Ace.

Camera
Although both handsets feature a fantastic 5.0 mega pixel camera, you would realize the difference in both cameras after clicking a picture instantly. The Galaxy S does not come with flash while the Ace is equipped with LED flash to give you great pictures even in low light. If you are recording videos during the day, the Galaxy S will give you better video clarity and sharpness compared to the Ace. So if you can compromise on taking pictures in the night, you will get stunning picture and video quality with the Galaxy S; but if you are a night person, then the Ace will obviously be your friend to take along.

Weight
There is not much difference in the weight of both handsets. The Samsung Galaxy S weighs 118g while the Galaxy Ace weighs 113g. It’s easy to guess that the Galaxy S weighs a bit more as it is a larger handset than the Ace.

Memory
The Galaxy S comes with 8GB and 16GB of internal memory. Compare this to the 158MB of internal memory of the Ace and you obviously know which one to choose. But if you’re still an avid fan of the Ace, you can expand your memory up to 32 GB with a micro SD card. For those of you that enjoy storing everything possible on your handset, the Galaxy S will be a suitable choice as it offers better internal memory which can again be expanded to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card.

The HTC brand already competing with apple consistently looks to invent itself for instance, the creation of the HTC desire, Desire HD, Desire – Z, Sensation, Sensation XE, and Sensation XL. Although the style names can account for the upgrading of the product it arguably shows the consumer how HTC are willing to consistently pump out their production line in order to compete with other Android market phones and Apple. The question that needs asking is how can it get any better?

The answer simply is YES, with a continued success of progressively adapting HTC phones according to technological advancements and social demand. The impetus is on HTC to always upgrade and improve their exceptionally high standards. This is illustrated by the new brand of phone “The One Series” which they hope will compete with its fiercest rivals in terms of Design, Operating System, Display, Camera, Music Player, and Other additional accessories.

Design:

The design has progressively evolved from the ‘desire’ age, applying the curvy nature HTC phones are easily becoming brandished with. Following a similar concept to the Nokia Lumia 800 it endorses the poly-carbonate housing arrangements to keep up-to-date with a single, simple and sleek design blue print, many Smart-phones are implementing in today’s current market. It’s large screen offers the user a manageable user-face which will hopefully decrease the chances of those ‘large thumbed users’ pressing the wrong keys. The design also simulates the turned over edges associated with phones like the Lumia 800, incorporating the 4.7 inch Gorilla glass screen. The HTC One X weighs in at 130 grams including the battery demonstrating a twenty gram reduction from its recent relative the HTC Sensation XE which was weighed at 151 grams. Lastly, its slim design measures approximately 7.9mm thus making the phone easy to carry around, and smooth to the eye and in the hand, houses micro-drilled speaker perforations, and fundamentally demonstrates the evolution of the desire in terms of design to where it is at today. So if your fan of the desire then this phone would most definitely cater to your needs.

Display:

With it large 4.7 screen it has already aimed to provide the user with a larger interface making texting, playing games, and streaming videos a much easier and pleasant experience bordering the lines of a phone expressing tablet like qualities. The quality of the display can be measured to its HD 1280-720 pixel super LCD 2 display which pending full review reduces the glare some phones indirectly incur and provides better viewing angles therefore making this HTC much more interactive with its users.

Operating System (OS):

The Ice Cream Sandwich OS will be used for this phone but will run the HTC’s sense user interface 4.0 improving on some aspects before by refining the user-interface and making it simple for the user. It provides room for a little customization but keeps to its core principles like the lock screen which HTC users are all accustomed to and would probably not want to change. the HTC One X will b one of the first HTC phones to have a quad-core Nividia Tegra 3 processor it makes for a quick response time for the user when trying to manage moving from one application to the next, while embracing a faster web browsing experience all users want to see. One of the key selling point to using the Tegra 3 processor is the direction it takes in terms of preserving battery life. Using Nvidia Prism (pixel rendering intensity and saturation management) technology it aims to reduce the power of a mobiles back-light while enhancing pixel color quality thus preserving the battery life. With the OS and the new technology infused in this phone it makes navigation through this phone easier and aims to extend the battery life which is a much welcomed technological addition.

Camera:

The One X has a 8 mega-pixel camera which supports 720p resolution video recording, with this power it allows the user to capture the moment so to speak and share it with the world immediately by uploading them through social mediums or create albums of the highest quality. All the HTC One series models will have a HTC image chip built in along with a f2.0 lens. HTC have made improvements like better focus and snapping time but has integrated a new burst mode which can produce 99 shots in full resolution 5fps, plus they have devised a method to video record with the ability to take snap shots during recording. With these slight modifications it can make capturing the moment that much more meaningful.

Accessories:

Has a Drop-box function which allows for up to 25GB worth of storage free for two years. This is useful for uploading photos, music and any documents straight into your Drop-box storage.

Integrating Spotify, TuneIn, SoundHound, and extending its reach with Beats audio by expanding the sound enhancement from music player to YouTube, video, and games.

Media Link HD – provides you with the portable HD experience. Your personal portable library of movies and photos to share with anyone at anytime, It also give you access to YouTube videos and browse the Internet and project this experience wherever a HD display is available. Turning you mobile phone into a shared movie experience with its easy-to-use set up and and portable nature can make this a desirable accessory when hosting events or producing presentations.

HTC car accessories – Provide HTC users the new driving experience, introducing a Car Kit custom for the phone making the interface easier to use and navigate, Car Mic which gives you the Blue-tooth hands-free set when you have to take those emergency meeting calls but still keep both hands on the wheel as well eyes on the road, and HTC CarStereo Clip (AUX) this function enables you transmit the favorite songs you have on your mobile device into the car you are driving. Allowing the user to cater to whatever music they want.

The ‘One’ series brand seems to be the new direction HTC are going, drawing upon a small comparison with the BMW car series. It seems to be providing the user with a consistent quality which will become synonymous with the brand but with each series either provide more or refine, giving the user the choice to either go for the larger than life X series or perhaps less specification packed devices exposing the users to HTC’s other One series projects like the ‘S’ and ‘V’ series. Nevertheless HTC seems to be catering to a host of demographics from music lovers to business minded people who need access to the phone at all times. The One series brand is surely going to be one of the much talked about mobile phone ranges advertised and used in the next couple of months.

You can pre order the HTC One X now for £139 with a monthly line rental of £31 on Vodafone

Launched on Windows 7.5 operating system, the Blue Nokia Lumia 800 is already creating quite a buzz in the smart phone market as it is an upcoming competitor of the iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S2. The device is competitively priced with the intention of stealing as much market share as possible. Designed to catch the eye instantly, one glance at the Blue Lumia will instantly make you fall in love with it. But it’s not all about looks. Nokia has power packed this gadget with cutting edge features, giving users a chance to witness a one of a kind experience with every application in built in it. Let’s take a closer look at this smart phone.

Design: The design is very straightforward and yet very alluring. The handset has a simple sleek design that is very similar to the Nokia N9. Its polycarbonate finish gives it a nice look around the edges and the large display that stretches from the top to the bottom makes it look truly spectacular. The curved chassis makes it very difficult to damage and thus a great phone to have with your at all times. The neat design of the Lumia certainly puts it on the list for the most stylish phones available in the market today.

Operating System: The Blue Nokia Lumia runs on the Windows 7.5 operating system that is also commonly known as Mango. The Live Tiles feature of this operating system makes it extremely easy to use. You can link contacts, jump to different applications and do much more. This one feature of the operating system is making it a fast competitor to Android. The speed of the interface is simply amazing and something that every user will get hooked onto instantly. A simple flick of your finger can help you navigate through the phone with ease. You can also change the color of the tiles to suit your mood. Users get a satellite navigation service called Nokia Drive and a radio service called Nokia Music along with this OS.

Display: If you have already had a look at the phone, you would undoubtedly agree that it has an extremely large display that is great for browsing, watching movies, playing games, and a lot more. The clear OLED display that sits beautifully below the curved glass is designed to impress even the most advanced smart phone user. The screen lights up beautifully with a flood of colors coming to the forefront, offering visual elegance so that you don’t have to strain your eyes while swishing through the interface. The display is rolled out from edge to edge, allowing you to experience stunning usability. Because of the large display, sending a text message and making video calls is as easy as it gets. If you fancy browsing the internet on your phone then the Blue Lumia 800 is certainly a must have.

Camera: The camera on the Lumia packs quite a punch. Its 8.0 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens helps you capture mind blowing pictures and upload them to a variety of social networking websites within seconds. Using the camera settings is also extremely easy and if you love recording your own videos, its 720p HD recording feature will surely have your eye balls popping out. The only drawback probably is that the phone does not come with a front facing camera – a wee bit of disappointment for the users.

Music Player: The music player on the Lumia fits nicely to the entire screen. The quality is clear and crisp and managing your music with the player is a breeze. Nokia hasn’t tried creating a complicated music.

For those of you who are new to the term “Android”, let me assure you that it’s not some unknown fruit plucked off a tree from Mars. Android is an operating system just like the Apple iOS and Blackberry RIM. But there is a difference – while Apple iOS is an the operating system that powers all apple devices and Blackberry RIM is the operating devices for only blackberry handsets, Android is powered by Google and runs on a wide variety of handsets and is not limited to a specific manufacturer or a specific type of device. That’s the beauty of Android!

So what’s the hype around Android?
Have you been wondering why there is such hype in the market for android devices? Almost everyone out there that isn’t using a Blackberry or an Apple wants an android device. Why?
The answer is fairly straightforward. Android is a futuristic operating system that is constantly being developed with state of the art applications and superior features to allow users to get more than what they bargained for. Powered by Google, android has been developed with the intention of creating a sharp operating system that constantly evolves to suit the needs of modern users. Mobile Phones, tablets and millions of other devices run on android because it has proven to be highly efficient and thus highly sought after by gadget freaks around the globe. There have been different versions of the operating system, each named after a different dessert, with the latest one being called Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Pair a fun name with a cutting edge operating system and people are bound to grab it with both hands.

Android is pretty cool and here is why! The operating system gives you the flexibility of having multiple home screens where you can save shortcuts to your favorite applications and widgets. Sounds great, doesn’t it?
You can download all the widgets and apps you want from the android marketplace and save it on your home screen to access them easily. Get real time updates from social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter right on your home screen. Android even lets you play music and browse through your pictures from your home screen. Everything you select loads up quickly and using the interface is extremely simple. Did I forget to mention the super fast web browser? Now that’s really cool!

Wondering what the Android Marketplace is?
You’re not the only one who does not know what the Android Marketplace is. It’s a place where you can download over 10 billion apps and widgets, allowing you to get the latest functionalities and apps right on your handset. Using the marketplace is really simple too. Select the Android Marketplace from your handset and wait for it to load up. Setup a Google account quickly and begin downloading everything you need. Choose from tons of categories such as games, movies, books and many others and get access to whatever you need on your mobile.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich
Now that we known what android is, let’s learn a bit about its latest version – Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Released in October 2011, Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich is the operating system’s latest version to hit the market. This version of android has seen some major enhancements to existing features as well as the launch of a whole bunch of new and exciting features for android lovers. Facial recognition unlock, enhancements to photography, unified contacts for all social networking sites, and many more advanced features make the Ice Cream Sandwich a loved Android version. This makes me wonder – if the Ice Cream Sandwich has so many futuristic features, imagine what the next version of Android will have to offer?

The Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 are two of the best selling phones from Samsung. Both phones are packed with a variety of specification and features to woo customers into buying them. If you have ever dreamt of having a top of the range mobile phone with all the modern day features needed, you can take your pick from any of these two. The two most attractive features of these two phones are its camera and the video quality in them. Let’s take a look at what distinguishes the S2 from the S3 in terms of camera and video.

Camera:
The first difference that you would notice in both phones is the resolution of the camera. While the S2 showcases a strong 8.0 megapixel camera that is undoubtedly better than earlier Samsung phones, the S3 beats all odds and comes out as the winner with a high end 16.0 megapixel camera. The massive camera on the S3 is designed to capture images with crystal clear quality that will definitely blow your mind away. The Samsung S2 also manages to grab ultra-clear pictures with its 8.0 megapixel camera and comes equipped with an LED flash to give you stunning pictures even during the night. Compare this to the dual flash on the S3 and you will surely be fetching for the Galaxy S3. If a futuristic camera is what you desire, the S3 is but obviously your choice to go. The S3 is perfect to take pictures in low light, indoors or at an evening party with your friends. Customizations on the S2 are something that you will definitely love. There are several enhancements that you can add to your pictures to suit your mood. Altering the ISO on the S2 is another great plus point. If you intend to impress your friends, family and everyone else around you with a powerful camera phone, the S3 would certainly be your best bet.

Video:
The video quality on both phones is pretty impressive. The Samsung Galaxy S2 captures videos at 30 frames per second, enabling you to shoot some of the most beautiful videos in broad daylight as well as in the night. The videos captured thought the lens of the S2 is definitely an improvement from earlier Samsung phones. This clearly shows that Samsung is looking to provide customers cutting edge features with all future launches. Giving users the ability to capture some of the best videos is something that is definitely on the phone company’s mind. The video functionality on the S2 has received positive reviews from users as well as the press, putting the S2 on the list for the most desired phones. The video capability on the S3 will most certainly make you beg for the phone at all cost. The S3 captures videos through its powerful 16.0 megapixel camera at 60 frames per second. Yes, that’s right! This feature puts the S3 in the driver’s seat for the best video phones. Samsung will directly target customers in the iPhone market to increase its customer base and flood the market with a series of high end devices. Capturing HD videos at 60 frames per second is something that most smart phone fans are looking forward to. This would allow users to capture some of the most incredible videos that you could get from the camera of a smart phone and definitely send all hearts racing. The launch of the Galaxy S3 may see a new shift in how Samsung approaches the smart phone market and if the features in the phone live up to the rumors surrounding them, I wouldn’t hold back in going all out to get my hands on the S3 myself.

What features do you want to see in the new Samsung Galaxy S3 ?

For those who don’t know about these games (screenshot below) the aim of the gae is to swipe your finger across the screen to cut different types of fruit that fly up into the air, whilst of course avoiding the bombs that occasionally appear to ruin your chances of a perfect score and also eliminating one of your 3 lives.

The Android market has had over 10 million downloads for Fruit Ninja as it is a very addictive game. Although Fruit Slice does offer clearer graphics and gameplay is much better.
