What is Android – A Beginner’s Guide
For those of you who are new to the term “Android”, let me assure you that it’s not some unknown fruit plucked off a tree from Mars. Android is an operating system just like the Apple iOS and Blackberry RIM. But there is a difference – while Apple iOS is an the operating system that powers all apple devices and Blackberry RIM is the operating devices for only blackberry handsets, Android is powered by Google and runs on a wide variety of handsets and is not limited to a specific manufacturer or a specific type of device. That’s the beauty of Android!
So what’s the hype around Android?

Choose from tons of categories such as games, movies, books and many others and get access to whatever you need on your mobile.

Now that we known what android is, let’s learn a bit about its latest version – Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Released in October 2011, Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich is the operating system’s latest version to hit the market. This version of android has seen some major enhancements to existing features as well as the launch of a whole bunch of new and exciting features for android lovers. Facial recognition unlock, enhancements to photography, unified contacts for all social networking sites, and many more advanced features make the Ice Cream Sandwich a loved Android version. This makes me wonder – if the Ice Cream Sandwich has so many futuristic features, imagine what the next version of Android will have to offer?
